Thanks dons, MW, Hurricane Floyd, and again to senorpepr. I appreciate the time you took to answer. :) A lot of things to consider in this crazy business, for sure. I appreciate to offer to answer more questions. I'm sure I'll have a few over time.

I always like to think it's good to get an inside look on how someone does something to get a greater appreciation of the end result of their work, especially when it comes to weather forecasting. Even more so tropical forecasting.

If anyone else wishes to pass along how they do it, please do. 8-)

With the first TD of the season, I figured that I would bump this up for those looking for insight into how some of these forecasters go about forecasting tropical systems.

Start by taking a look at the large scale environment

Then look in detail at the storm structure

Look at the models

Re look at the large scale environment

Make a center fix and go from there
