This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Development off the East Coast?

#1 Postby SouthFloridawx » Wed Sep 13, 2006 12:23 am

Just looking at the 00Z models and see maybe some possible development off the East Coast.

GFS

CMC

UKMET

NOGAPS

NAM Also picking up on it.

It's probably Frontal Development but, none the less could impact the swiftness of recurvature for Gordon.

I'm thinking probably some energy coming from a frontal boundary initially from the GOM.

Also it should be noted that NOGAPS develops a low off the East Coast and does help scoot out Gordon a little more quickly.

Models still showing some type of development off the East Coast.

CMC
http://moe.met.fsu.edu/cgi-bin/cmctc2.c ... hour=060hr

GFS
http://moe.met.fsu.edu/cgi-bin/gfstc2.c ... hour=060hr

FSUMM5
http://moe.met.fsu.edu/cgi-bin/mm5fsutc ... hour=060hr

NOGAPS
http://moe.met.fsu.edu/cgi-bin/nogapstc ... hour=060hr

UKMET

Eventhough it's probably Frontal Development, it should result in a windy and rainy forecast along the East Coast.
