Wow, that is kind of scary! My brother is in the Fla Natl Gd, and he trains people to fly with the night vision goggles. He is currently on his 2nd tour, he is in Kuwait this time. Should be home within next 2 months!!

Members were sent overseas with their equipment, but when they come back, the gear often stays in the war zones.


I truly don't understand why they would leave a state's National Guard equipment over there when they come back. That makes me mad.

I can only guess they leave it over there for the next group of people to use. You would think they would be manufacturing more equipment...but what do I know? lol!

The national guard guys that were here after Rita were an awesome group. They not only made their presence known which kept down problems but worked their tail ends off helping us and doing everything from unloading 18 wheelers of clothes to playing with the kids. The equipment in my opinion was not as vital as their presence.
