1900 Hurricane - "Issac's storm" documentary

I Just came across this video on a google search. It is a full-length history channel documentary about the 1900 hurricane...specifically in regard to Issac Cline, the head of the Galveston weather bureau at the time. It is a bit long (1 hr. 31 mins.), but I figured I would post it here in case anyone wanted to watch it...

I just watched it and I thought it was very good. I learned a lot of new things and now have a much better picture of the 1900 storm scenario and life in SE Texas at the time. Very good history channel documentary.

I think I saw it last year.,if its the one that brought to light some errors in recorded history of the event.The head of the weather Bureau In Galveston got the credit for helping to save lives when it was actually someone else.He blundered the whole operation

Thanks for posting this video. I live in NOLA and lived thru Katrina in a hospital downtown. My level of anxiety is at the highest level, and I fear for this city and its people. In spite of the protestations of the officials, nothing is ready, and the feeling of insecurity is everywhere. Like the people of Galveston in the 1900, a lot of people think that such a disaster will never happen here, in spite of Katrina. The rest of the country is tired of our woes and the inefficiency of our officials. The only lesson we have learned is that we cannot depend on any local, state or federal help. Everyone I talk to, is leaving ahead of time this time, and I doubt that there will be any nurses or doctors in this town for another hurricane, as we were so badly treated after so many sacrifices, during and after. I feel like Isaac's brother Joseph, with a great "feeling of impending doom". Maybe the next hurricane impacting New Orleans directly will simply wipe it off the map... And it doesn't have to be a cat 5, a slow moving 2 will do the job.
