During our prayers tonight, our 7 year old asked to pray for "the hummingbird men." They are the men who ran the place we visited last Spring where we held hummingbirds and fed them from bottles. Our kids loved that! Our oldest understands a little about a hurricanes-- he's evacuated for 3 in his young life! When we were watching the news, he heard about the hurricane. So, he prayed for them. We assured him his friends would be okay--- and I sure hope they are. Of course, all folks in the path of Dean are in our prayers.

Our church congregation is approximately 65-70% Jamaican and I can assure you that A LOT of prayers will be going up during this morning's services and through out the day. We actually have a Jamaican music concert scheduled for tonight at church and I am sure prayers for the island will be a part of that as well.

My prayers not only go up for all the people of Jamaica who are in the path of this dangerous storm, but also for their friends and family who live in other parts of the world and are worried today about their loved ones.

We need to pray VERY hard tonight. The Yucatan Peninsula has a Category 5 storm coming. NO ONE has had a landfall from a Cat 5 since 1992.
