June Without a Single Atlantic Tropical System?

Has there ever been a June with a parade of storms to track? If that is the expectation, there will be alot of disappointing Junes. It might cause less anguish to consider the 'tracking season' not beginning until August 1...till then just a quick glance but not the monitoring of every rain shower from here to Africa.

Not a parade, but before the ENSO killed 1997, there were 4 storms in June and July, including Cat 1 Danny which made landfall in Plaquemines Parish in July.

I wonder if the El Niño that basically killed 1997 contributed to early tropical activity. I'm guessing it did.

No season is a bust unless you're all the way into September with no storms.

Except for Andrew, 1992 was a bust. But just one storm can make a difference.

Yet in terms of ACE anyway 2007 was actually queiter then 1992, which whilst on,y had 6 NS did have a cat-5, another major hurricane and 2 hurricanes that got to 110mph, it wasn't totally dead like some seasons have been.

It's even easier:

Alt + 164 = ñ

Alt + 165 = Ñ

It annoys me when British newspapers use n instead of ñ. There also seems to be a habit recently of using Espagnol instead of Español, and it annoys me, even if it is technically correct.

Not that unusual for June to be without a system - just nice for the month to be without one...

That EPAC continues to steal the show with 2 tropical storms and a new invest area with a high probability of development.

These EPAC systems are only helping to keep the Western Caribbean region (one of the only few favored regions for tropical development in the Atlantic basin in June) very unfavorable for development.
