A Temporarily Dying TUTT?

#1 Postby 'CaneFreak » Sat Jul 05, 2008 12:20 pm

Someone help me out here but it looks to me like the TUTT is trying to die out. If you look at the latest upper air data from CIMSS, it does appear that the TUTT is temporarily weakening. Will the TUTT remain relatively weak as Bertha passes by in a few days? Well, that remains to be seen but it does appear to me that the TUTT is temporarily weakening its grip over the Central Atlantic. Thoughts?

I agree Canefreak. The TUTT appears to be weakening, it is less intense,
am I correct to say that a weaker TUTT means less shear?

Watching the 5 day animation of the 200mb relative vorticity it appears that it is lifting out, so to speak. Kind of looks like it's getting squeezed and lifted out. Now I don't know a lot about the upper level dynamics... This pattern or set up is a little tricky for me.

TUTT may be moving more rapidly out of the area:
