Ok, Chris might not come to Texas but if I were y'all, you better go get supplies today or tomorrow.
I just got back from Academy and guess what? The 'D' batteries were just about whiped out. I got the last 4-pack of duracell 'D' batteriess and then I grabbed about 8 packs of the 2-packsheir wasn't much left at all!! I've got plenty of propane here at the house but I grabbed a few more bottles anyways. Just like AFM, if nothing gets used I can use them for camping anyways, which my family and I will be doing plenty of this fall with our pop-up camper.
Seriously, you better get what you need in the next day or two. Better safe than sorry. I'm off to WalMart here in a bit with the family to get water and whatever else.

Texans need to start preparing now. It's never too early, especially when the track is pointing right at you.I started preparing for Dennis right when I saw that first track that showed a Pensacola/Mobile hit and I'm glad I did.Plus one of our local mets said that the S.E ridge should steer Chris towards Texas unless a weakens forms but that's not expected to happen.

(This should be a Preparation post) I'm betting that they will only be going up in price and getting harder to find pretty much day by day. The time is now - throw one on the "card" if you have to - and if you just have to have one at all. Go today - be late to work or call in if you have to. The bottom line is that this sounds as though it's really on your mind and it'll be best for you to just "slay the dragon" and get one. Remember that generators have maintenance and break-in needs, oil and fuel, spare parts and safe operating habits. Maybe a quick "Google" on your end will give you some local pricing. Good luck, and here's hoping all of those generators go unused this season!

Not saying it wont happen, but I dont even know how much longer we will even have a depression. It is definately not a TS anymore. I'm glad and hope there are not any surprises.

I read my post from this time last night and thought, before I saw who wrote it, "Haha, what a sucker, Chris is making a comeback tonight!"
And then I saw it was my own post.
This proves two things...
1. I need more sleep.
2. I'm a tad bit of an idiot.
Goodnight!

Id love for it to just "disappear" but my nervousness is due to if it gets into the gulf and damages the oil rigs the gas prices will shoot through the roof
I work for a gasoline transport company and the oil companies raise gas prices anyway by ARTIFICIALLY limiting supply at the refineries. We cant even pull enough product to supply demand on a normal non-holiday weekend. They allocate less fuel to our company to dleiver than the customers actually need creating a shortage that angers the customer and us.
Back to the topic though, Im not so sure it iwll disappear, but it isnt as vigorous as it was yesterday to survive the shear for much longer. It may becomes a very weak circulation and it MUST escape that shear to the north before it has any chance at all.

Thanks for that info about gas supply... please PM as I would like to look further into this. Can't really discuss this openly in the threads so send a private message.
