I say six. Only a hunch, no scientific reasoning behind it.

I voted for two named storms, one really weak one around the 20th to 23rd, and a stronger one later forming around the 25th and making landfall Florida panhandle close to end of month, 30th or 31st.

Thanks for you vote :). Whereas, let's not deviate from the topic in hand here and that is how many named storms will form in August, is not about the area of landfall.

Well, those three votes for "none at all" are out of the winning circle :)

Probably looking at the 4-6 range, could quite easily see 2-3 in the next 10 days from the looks of things, given we already have Colin.

Okay, so if you look at my earlier post in this thread, I selected 2
storms for the month of August......Colin formed in August right?
I'm still sticking with 2....Although 3 storms seem more likely...

It seems like most everyone chose 4, 5 and 6....Ya better hope it
gets busy quick for those numbers to come true

I put down 4 storms but actually put 3 in the vote (a nice little x next to 3!) because I was more keen on August just after I voted then what I was when I voted...probably should have stuck with 3 given whats happening.

Once the poll closes, no chance to change.

It looks like we are probably going to end the month with 2 storms for August, which was my guess originally. We usually know within 4 to 5 days if a storm is going to form, and
We have the one in the Eastern Atlantic coming up, with no other storms in sight...The one in the Carib is going to run out of time, so you can scratch that one...
So this will probably be it for the month...
