It's part of the same tropical wave that spawned Philippe. Very low development potential east of the Caribbean. This could be the first disturbance that DOESN'T develop in the eastern Atlantic and makes it into the Caribbean. It's such disturbances that are often the source of development in the western Caribbean this time of year. Something to watch in a week or so, maybe.

Agreed. Unlike Philippe (I had disagreed with rainstorm to some extent about this), something forming here cannot be assumed to be a near certain fish (as regards the CONUS), especially considering the ridging over the CONUS being projected.
