Hi everyone,
I'm starting to get into tracking mode again as the hurricane season gets ready to get under way in the Atlantic. However, I have to say one thing before this season starts. I know it has been a great pleasure for a number of people over the past three years to read my weekly predictions, and I learned a lot through this exercise. That said, this was not an easy choice, as I was playing a mental Ping-Pong game throughout the last month over whether or not to continue writing these. Towards the end of last year, admittedly my best year yet, I was starting to come down with a case of writer's block. I was hoping the long break would allow me to rest up and be ready to go, but alas I still find myself not fully in the mood for the weekly predictions. Therefore, I have decided it is best for me to just watch the hurricane season unfold and let Mother Nature do as she will, and no longer put together my research to make these kind of predictions.
This does not mean I am leaving Storm2k for good though, make no mistake. I love this board, have learned a lot from other people and my own research, and still enjoy following these storms (though never hoping they hit land so severely). I will still be posting about the individual storms every now and then when I have free time in their own threads, maybe even putting my research from the past three years as an amateur to use along the way. But sometimes you just have to know when it's time to take a step back and just relax and enjoy life.
Also, I am also heading out of town tomorrow and won't be back home until June 9. I will be camping in Yosemite in the middle of California and will likely not be able to be online much until then, if at all. Therefore, it would be quite difficult for me to get a prediction in unless I put it together tomorrow morning before leaving for work, and I'm just not fully there yet. But if there is any type of tropical activity that catches my attention, no matter how quiet or surprising it may be, I will still be ready to chip in a little two cents if I get the chance.
Thank you to everyone for taking the time to read my weekly predictions, and having your own words to say about them, whether complimentary or critical. It is tough putting them to bed, but I still have to make sure I take care of what needs to be taken care of outside this forum too.

Sounds totally reasonable to me.I participate in other forums were some like to show there efforts in how they reached a desired product. This takes more effort and forethought in how to present those efforts thus increasing the time of said project before completion.I use to particiapte in this but found the extra effort took away what was suppose to be a hobby/fun and made it like work I went back to having fun.You post those thoughts I will continue to read them have fun tracking.

I did the same thing with Recon, after doing things so much you just get burnt out and need a well deserved break! Be wary though, if your mind is anything like mine, while watching hurricanes it starts asking questions and next thing you know, you're working on another area of interest
in my case, it was rapid intensification. Not that finding another area is a bad thing, of course!

I barely post, but I do frequent this site regularly. I enjoyed reading your posts last year and found them informative. Thank you for putting your time and energy into writing them. I will miss them this year but I do understand!
