Currently STY Maemi is located at 25.9N 125.4E, or about 145NM SW of Okinawa. Current heading on Maemi is NW at 7kt. Official wind speed is 135g165kt. However, satellite estimates show 140-155kt. In either case... Maemi is big... and doesn't "play nicely with others." ...and by others I mean land. This will definately be something watched closely for Japan, Korea, and neigboring islands. Shimoji-Shima Island: Vis: 5/8mi; Weather: Heavy Rainshowers; Wind: 360° 50g67kt; Pressure: 29.18
