My apologies to the floridians

#1 Postby cycloneye » Sat Sep 13, 2003 8:37 am

Maybe I jumped early on this statement that I made about Florida being in the clear from Isabel and I accept that I may done so rapidly.I agree that until the turn to the WNW is made we can't say yet that Florida is in the clear however I made that statement based on the second trough that will arrive at the east coast next week that may hook Isabel to the north.Nobody is perfect and I accept that I did jumped to quick but the experts here can say to you that the pattern will favor a north track away from florida. But (IF) Isabel misses that second trough then things get tricky for the east coast but I wont go more from there.Maybe we can get some new data tonight that can enlighting us about the upper patterns ahead when the Gulfstream jets flys but I agree that it is too early to discount any landfall anywhere in the east coast from MIAMI TO MAINE.

Not a problem.... even the NHC pretty much said we are in the clear. I am not going to take my eye off it until its well north of Boynton Beach. I am kinda sick of these long tracked storms anyway... need to sleep :)

Luis you may very well be right! The models and the NHC seems to agree. Until I see her actually turn safely out of the way I'll just keep on watching her ;-)

Cyc, you don't need to apologize for anything. You were just stating your opinion, that's all.

But I may be right on my statement HD however I accept that I was fast to say that when Isabel has not made that WNW track as of yet but I know that eventually it wil but where it will begin moving north is the question.

Cyc, you are one of the most imformative people on this site that keeps us always updated. I know that we can count on you to get the info out there asap for us. We all have our opinions and you are certainly entitled to yours. I think at this point we are all a little tired and still in a holding pattern so to speak. The second trough just may be the kicker that will pull Isabel away from the Florida Coast, but unfortunatly not good news for the rest of the East Coast. I'm still going to feel a little uneasy until I see her make that turn and even then who knows, how many loop- de- loops have we seen in the past. I'm not suggesting that there is anything out there that would cause her to do that, but can't totally rule it out either until she actually makes landfall. Elena in '85 made a believer out of me!
