The worst of it is over

#1 Postby seahawkjd » Thu Sep 18, 2003 1:40 pm

We had the worst of the storm for the last 2 hours. Minimal pressure here was 28.44 so pretty low. We never did really get in the eye, just stayed in the west eye wall. The winds got up probably sustained for just a little bit at a good 70 80 and there's a confirmed gust at 100. The power and cable is now out, but thats pretty much expected. Local media is reporting some severe flooding in cedar island and adams creek. Also seems to be water in houses at sea level. Don't know about any other damage. We had a window on the second floor shattered by a branch, but thats been it here. To add insult to injury it was the room where we had laid our dog that died earlier this morning. Just thought I'd update now that I can. Stay safe everyone.

Thank you for everyone's sympathy for our dog. She lived a good life, was happy and active until the day she died, and went quickly. She had an enlarged heart so she was going to start going down hill soon anyway. If she had to die, it was a blessing that she didn't suffer.

I am so glad to hear that you are ok, seahawk. And glad that you have not sustained major damage to your house.
