Lol What… Phil K can’t go wrong with that call.

Seems like the correct call when ensembles are struggling to show any development except for a few stray members...

Seems like activity globally is down and will be down for a bit, it’s not just the Atlantic interestingly. Another Tweet of Phil was related to that idea, which I find quite interesting ngl.

Re: Expert forecasts for 2021 North Atlantic Hurricane Season: CSU verification up

#224 Postby cycloneye » Tue Nov 30, 2021 11:07 am

The CSU verification of season is up.

Excerpt:

The 2021 Atlantic hurricane season was another above-normal season with an extremely
high number of named storms (21) and above-normal levels for most other tropical
cyclone metrics including Accumulated Cyclone Energy. The seasonal hurricane
forecasts issued in 2021 by the Tropical Meteorology Project verified quite well. The
season’s most significant hurricane was Hurricane Ida, which made landfall in central
Louisiana as a Category 4 hurricane, bringing tremendous wind and storm surge damage
to the central Gulf Coast as well as significant inland flooding to the mid-Atlantic.
