So clearly, Hurricane Ida and Typhoon Rai were among the biggest weather disasters this year around the world. Ida caused $70 billion in damage, with historic flooding in New Orleans, Philadelphia, and New York City. Typhoon Rai killed almost 400 people while moving through the Philippines, and was a rare super typhoon for both December and the South China Sea. Those are clearly two of the 10 biggest weather events of the year.
In your opinion, what ranking do they place, and what other disasters would you include? The February cold wave (including the power crisis in Texas), July floods in Germany, and December tornado outbreak might all be included, but we're talking around the entire world, not just the US.
I'm asking partly to help add entries to the Wikipedia article for Weather of 2021 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weather_of_2021

I can't think of a Top 10 order, I agree with the events you mention though, and I just wanted to add one more event for you and others to consider when making Top 10 lists.
The Western North America heat wave. A 1000 year event, setting the record temperature in Canada at 121.3°F, and those wildfires that occurred with it. An insane event, and I would put it as a top 3 event at least since it's a 1000 year event that shattered records.

Quad State Tornado Family in December 2021, I never saw that coming.
March 2021 was INSANE considering the 2 High Risk Days within 8 days of each other.
July 2021 Extreme Heatwave of the Pacific NW
EDIT: I can't think of a top 10, however, I can help Y'all for the Top 10 listing for Extreme Weather Events of 2021 . . .

I am by no means a professional. DO NOT look at my forecasts for official information or make decisions based on what I post.

Hard to say, because it depends on how you define "extreme". Deviation from climatology? Insured/economic loss? Humanitarian impact? Death toll? I would probably include the European flooding in any list:
