He was an amazing man. Huge influence on many of us. He is a big reason I got into meteorology because of his days at the NHC. His days at KHOU were just an absolute masterclass in meteorology. I, and many others, will miss him dearly. A gut punch to me.

He is one of the fond memories of the news from my childhood, along with Marvin Zindler and his “Slime in the Ice Machine.”

I used to have a weather loach I named “Dr Eel Frank” lol
