A red weather warning (extraordinary danger) is in force for the Sol y Guadalhorce-Málaga zone until 23:59 CET, for precipitation exceeding 120 mm over 12 hours.

Radar images show this cyclone moved from the Gulf of Cadiz across the Strait of Gibraltar and into the far western Mediterranean Sea earlier today.

Since the cyclone reached the MED SEA, even if it's post-analyzed as a Frontal Hybrid rather than an STC, this thread will be added to the S2K Storm Archive for 2026, and added to the list of saved "Medicane" threads.

While Francis weakened late SUN-MON, a second, non-tropical cyclone spun up rapidly starting around SUN 21Z well to its east (near the Algerian coastline, well SW of Sardinia).

This system continues to move east to ENE and is currently passing just south of Sardinia.
