Two Australian Air Force Hercules have arrived in Vanuatu, with emergency supplies to aid the thousands of people affected by Cyclone Ivy, which battered the island nation last Thursday.
Our reporter, Danuta Kozaki, says much-needed shelter and water is now being unloaded from the aircraft.
Two officers from Emergency Management Australia are already in the capital, Port Vila, to help with the humanitarian effort.
One person died and about 2,000 people were evacuated from Port Vila after it was hit with winds of more than 200 kilometers an hour.
There was also major damage to villages on outlying islands.
Foreign Affairs Parliamentary Secretary, Christine Gallus, says Australia will provide further assistance if needed.
"We give ongoing aid to Vanuatu and it is one of our responsibilities we see in the Pacific to help Pacific nations when they're hit by cyclones," she said.
