Will we have Alex before August 1st?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Will we have Alex before August 1st?

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Sun Jul 18, 2004 4:06 pm

Just a simple question..

Personally I think and hope we do have Alex before August 1st. I have learned from past seasons not to start b****ing about it being slow because then we have storms out the ying yang till December lol..

Plus remember a very quiet season in 1992.. The 1st storm of the season is in the history books..

I don't think we will. While we still have a week and a half left, the only place something could form may be off the coast of the United States. I don't think any African waves can develop now thanks to SAL, Caribean (I can never spell that word!) has too much shear, nothing in the Gulf... I have a feeling August will be active enough.

I think we will definitely have at least one storm before Aug 1st.... I know I am the miinority but odds increase somewhat in late July---and of course greatly from Aug-Sept.... If we dont see a storm in July, I'd say Dr Grays as well as other experts seasonal forecast are in danger of BUST as is mine as well.

I wouldn't count on a bust even if no storms happen before 8/1..

It's still a long season
