Of course...typical weather service
They do it all the time. It was obvious this thing was a cat 3 early this morning from the visuals, but they refused to give this storm its due. Apparently to not panic everyone...well I'm sure the many people who are gutting this out on the coastline south of Tampa are right now appreciative of this late scrambling. Come on...from 110 to 145 in 30 minutes? The weather service should be ashamed...this is criminal.
