I am sitting here in the UK spend alot of time in Floirda...I haven't been able to 2 do any work for 2 days.....its even harder when you are further removed from the situation....you feel so useless and can't do anything (hurricane shutters were put up last weekend before departure due exellecent advice via Storm 2k)....people keep saying how wonderful the weather here is the UK at the moment.....and all I can think of is the hurricane and the people who are currently in Florida....Am spending all my time searching the net on Florida newspapers and local news channels and various weather related message boards (Storm2K is by far the best! And so glad it is working better today...fingers crossed!)....been lurking for a year or so....

Two weeks ago I thought I was saying a last good bye to our house on Anna Maria Island which was due, we thought then, to take a direct hit from Charley. As it was, the county of my primary residence took hit and I've been helping with the stranded/lost pets.
Now Frances is making plans to hit our families home in Green Turtle Cay, Abaco - Bahamas, which took a direct eye hit from Floyd. Friends are there now and planning to weather the storm.
Not sure if my brother has made it back from out west to board up his house in Stuart and get the heck outta his evacuation-zone home. Now getting my daughter out of very modestly built home near UCF in Orlando and getting her home to Lakeland so at least she'll be in a well-built structure with us and our zillion pets.
I've quit worrying about our home in GTC or Lakeland. It is the people of Abaco and FL and the economies of both I am most concerned for. That and quite a few animals still at the Charley emergency shelter in Bartow. Their working hard to get those fostered out by Friday.
No, work is almost impossible. Possitive thoughts and prayers seem most appropriate.
