There are some people on here, went as far to say that ivan could go all the way out west and hit Southern California. That would just be unheard of. I would have a better chance of wrestling a three legged mountain goat in oil at madison squared garden.

my point exactly...we get a slowdown and the keys to miami and back west are all in play...never thought this could happen yesterday

Can you be secure? No. There's a cat 4/5 storm out there, and you'll be near it. Every once and a while I go reread the forecasts and discussions for Mitch to remind me just how tough the forecasts can be.

You should stay alert and informed. Be prudent--travel if you think you can/should, but don't let secure=complacent. This could still go a lot of different ways.

I guess it kind of depend on what you mean by secure. Anything can happen with these things.
