What's stopping her?

I'm just wondering if there is anything inhibitting her from developing right now. She surely looks ragidy the past few hours. Is she still in the "stacking" phase, or is there shear in the area? I'm just looking for thoughts on her progress.

It is a developing depression. Perfectly normal.

she only has to fight strong shear and some very dry air.

However, some of my research results show that weaker systems are able to intensify in unfavorable environments far easier than are stronger ones

Ok, thanks....I know she's still in the "developing stages". I guess I was just thinking she would be a little more along than she is. I'm just too excited, that's all.

Dry Air

After the storm enters the GOM there seems to be a bunch of dry air. My guess is this dry air gets suck up into the thing preventing any convection from wraping around.
