that he's releasing his landfall intensity forecast either Wed. or Thurs. of this week. His preliminary called for the much laughed at "Brownsville to Hatteras" danger area, 5 US landfall impacts (2 TS's, 1 Cat 1, 1 Cat 2, 1 Cat 3) and a much higher than normal landfall intensity scale. I don't remember his damage figures or net insurance damage figures but both were in the single billions (maybe 7 and 4 or 8 and 5???). Anyway, I figured with all the recent discussion of whether or not we're progressing toward quantifying & qualifying hurricane seasons, I'd throw this out there. If my friend gives me the details on the release, I'll be sure to post it. Also, he did mention the coming trof split in the 10-12 day period with a ventilated Western Caribbean and a shot for more in-close development further west in the Gulf following the latest pulse of the weather pattern. He didn't elaborate any further so stay tuned for maybe a 2nd June Gulf storm if he hit the pattern the way he did with Arlene.
