What worries me more than anything about these models is the speed in which they move Dennis along. I highly doubt that Dennis is going to get to land nearly as fast as the GFDL says, and probably not as fast as any of the other models say right now.
Many have mentioned that the stirring flow will become weaker as time goes on, which shoul dmake the storm slow down considerably. Very slow would help to cause upwelling and weakening, so that would be goo din one sense, but the thing i don't like about that is that we have seen year after year that nay storm going less than 6kts in the Gulf becomes very unpredictable as to what direction it takes. It could do loop-d-loops or meander around and gize us all migraines!
Are we sure that the stirring currents (the ridge) will maintain the strength to move this storm right along to somewhere quickly?
