As of this morning, not sure exactly what time!

Western Pacific 18.03
Eastern Pacific 45.635

So Atlantic will catch the WPAC possibly as soon as tomorrow, but still some way behind the EPAC, though Danielle and Earl will probably be enough to catch the EPAC unless Frank goes gangbusters!

Thank you for bringing the EPAC and WPAC numbers. It will be interesting to see how the Atlantic rack up those units after a raquitic start, especially with the predictions by the experts of a hyperactive season.

If I had to make a punt right now cycloneye I'd go with 160-200, so I'm still expecting very large numbers!

:?: raquitic=rather quite?
Actually, thanks for teaching a new Spanish word. From Merriam-Webster:
raquítico, raquítica adjective
1 : scrawny, weak
2 : measly, skimpy

or from the Diccionario de la lengua española de la Real Academia Española en la red:
raquítico, ca.
1. adj. Que padece raquitismo. U. t. c. s.
2. adj. Dicho de una persona: Muy delgada y débil. Ha adelgazado tanto que está raquítico.
3. adj. Dicho de una cosa: Muy pequeña o escasa. Nos pusieron unas raciones raquíticas.

Well looks like next advisory we are going to overtake the WPAC...

Will this be one of the only seasons in history that we see the Atlantic beat the WPAC in terms of ACE??

Look how fast the numbers jump as Danielle gets the units for being a major. This will help the Atlantic to get closer to the line of hyperactive sooner rather than later.

So we race ahead of the WPAC...I think we have a very real chance of this being one of the only times in history we beat the WPAC in terms of ACE...I'm guessing 1998 was close tohugh as well....

With Earl suppose to get to Major Hurricane status and "Fiona" possible doing the same, I could see us passing up the EPAC as soon as this time next week.
