Losing everything you own including your house is not something that will bore you at all.. It will make your life a living hell. I'm guessing you've never been through a really strong hurricane. I haven't,but I know that it's really not something you'd want to happen to you if you knew what it was like
Oh i know i will start getting bored thats why i have a portable dvd player a lap top a ds if all that fails to keep me entertained then i'll go to my ganma's place yes i said ganma and also my power goes out, but not for a few days only for acouple of hours. i can take it!
I wanna be just like bear grylls form man vs wild, but i'm not a man i'm a girl.

Ok, I'm putting Sanford's coordinates into the next GFS model run and it will be out in a few hours. Thanks for your request. Sincerely, Management

No,you very clearly have no idea what is involved with a strong landfalling cane on you (strong being keyword).Try no power for weeks.Your house flooded,Your roof ripped off.Trees crushing your cars.Good thing you'd likely be forced to evacuate should such an event occur,or else you may just end up dead :|

It's gonna be a close call for the islands alright. The final destination is wide open yet. I am hoping Dean is a good swimmer..

Meso lets not argue. we'll just leave that i know what can happen after
a cyclone. i know its not gonna be fun after a cyclone and i know i like
being in a cyclone no matter what happens. so you can continue telling me the bad things that i know will happen, but i'll always keep saying i wanna be in a storm. thats just the way i am. meso you stay cool.

does the name Georges ring a bell?....with some variations, thankfully for luis and caribpepr, the guadeloupe-greater antilles-fla straits-miss track got my attention...for luis' sake, it doesnt mirror georges complete transit of pr.....rich..(remember the raining blue barrel tile on sugarloaf key on 9/25/98)

Right, let's not argue.I'm just very thankful you're too young to make the decisions of whether to evacuate or not.Your mind will change some day, until then.Enjoy.

Indeed the threat to the islands is significant on this run...

Here's a view which has it over the florida keys and very close to south florida....

6Z run has it back as a GOM threat, with it making landfall in the Florida panhandle at the Florida Keys at 264 hours and the panhandle at 300 hours.

With the current atlantic ridging as we near the peak of the season the GFS looks reasonable trackwise. Might pull the SAL down into the circulation early in the forecast period but there are no TUTTs.

This model run, like all before it this summer is entertaining to say the least, but when do they EVER really come to fruition that far out...

However, that being said, it is approaching the time in the season where you do expect tropical development to start ramping up.. as I've posted berfore, sooner or later one of these models will get it together, it the law of probabilities, add the fact that we are approaching the peak of the season, so I will start to take them just a little more serious...
bottom line, we are going to get a hurricane to develop somewhere in the Atlantic, that's a given, and based on climatology it should be occurring within the next two or three weeks...

btw, this run does look like the Georges path ...

LOL Unbelievable....looks like the GFS won't be remembered for the largest bust in tropical weather watching history....didnt think the wave would look this good after leaving the coast.

I only come here once in a blue moon now, and posts like this are the reason. Mods get bent out of shape about "chatty" posts, and yet allow ones like this to go unchecked. Bah. And I'm not the only one--I know of at least 4-5 people I see on a daily basis who also stopped reading S2K after Katrina because of posts like these.

And happy birthday, Luis, I always did enjoy your posts :)

Image Image Funny but true!!

In the short range the GFS and other models are showing us that things are getting ripe and something looks to be forming from this wave. However, looking at the long range for landfall is not even worth taking seriously.
