The trough that was keeping shear over the NW caribbean is lifting out and the wave looks like it s staying south of the big islands.
Looks like we may have something to watch by early next week. Glad we had a nice break after Ike though..

That ULL shears it now, but if this moves a bit slower than the ULL, the ULL goes from a shear killer to an outflow jet generator, and maybe induces a short wave ridge right over it.
Especially since that ULL looks like it is close to being cut-off, and not part of a larger trough.
But for now, it is pushing dry air and shear onto the ECarb wave.
