Brent...you didn't understand me....I said that "This Afternoon" refers to the afternoon which the TCPOD is scheduled for, which is tomorrow afternoon (22nd).
Aquawind:
It could also be why it is resources permitting...
Keep in mind that this is intended for the Hurricane Hunter Squadron, which receive instructions daily.
But it could also be a typo.

22nd would be tomorrow.
And as pointed out above, it appears to be a typo because they are already flying at that time tomorrow. The only other thing I can think of is they are talking about using the GulfstreamIV jet to sample the upper air. However, they usually state that clearly. I must agree it appears to be a typo.

You are correct, but they work together as far as announcing the flights. I really saw no need for a NOAA flight, but that was the only other possibility I could think of.
With the 11:30 TWO that was all cleared up since like stated above they are going in this afternoon.

Agree there Alicia. Very interesting this is. We MAY have Alex this afternoon.... but it will depend on if there is an LLC.. if there are west winds.. and if there is a closed circulation...
Someone said 50 kts barbs... and I believe that is true... but wait a minute... 50 knots = 60 mph (approx.) If Alex is up this afternoon... I'd expect it with winds of 40 to 45 mph.
