S. of PR = Hispaniola in a matter of hours. Not to mention NHC does have it hitting Hispaniola.

Before USA...
For those who are concern about us down here (Hispaniola & Puerto Rico), THANKS!... still we don't know where Ivan El Terrible will hit us. Remember guys, before guessing where in the USA Ivan will hit, there are people living in other countries that are FIRST exposed to the hurricane. So, we are so much interested in your expertise".

Yes, I agree. My husband and I are always wondering where "landfall" is. Obviously not on the islands. It's always, it will make "landfall" later and it's already ripping the Bahamas or something.
On another note, I don't wish anyone any harm but I hope this thing passes south of us. I would hate our first storm to be a Cat 5. Then we would get complacent......Not !

I'm with you on this forecast Derek, great job. Ivan gives me great concern for not only the Carib. but for it's potential on the GOM or FL.

HURRICANE WATCH FOR BARBADOS
Meanwhile, in the tropical central Atlantic, Hurricane Ivan is intensifying explosively. With sustained winds of 125 mph it already is a major hurricane (the fourth of the season) and is also the strongest hurricane on record for such a low latitude (10 degrees north) in the Atlantic Basin. Ivan is forecast to assault the Lesser Antilles as early as Tuesday, and a hurricane watch has been issued for the island of Barbados. Additional hurricane watches for the Windward Islands are likely over the next 12 hours.

Going to be many dead before this is done, I think.
Please take that back..........
Why so? Is one not allowed to point out that major hurricanes do indeed kill many people?
