Well the CPC's late call about a possible La Nina development does not surprise me since they haven't a clue about the possible space weather relationship to this turn around.
They never mentioned La Nina conditions in their October outlook so they are about seven weeks behind my own thinking. A reply of mine in
"Season slowly dying"
I mention how the recent space weather events would most likely have an effect upon the ENSO.

This could very well end up being like last year though. We saw a negative SOI phase in the ENSO and it was moderate during February, (30 day average) but it died out in early spring. The timing of the different variables is very important here.
