Aww, come on EWG. You know you love Texas weather. The 90+F days and the humidity that will make you sweat in the shower.......

I love Florida, but hate all the development. I wish they could have stopped it for good 10 years ago.

Those that made the ad seem to have never been in Florida during a "bad day," especially, "an Andrew-day."

I really don't see why this ad needs to be pulled from TV. The ad is simply meant to be light-hearted and to help boost and bring back tourism to the state. It wasn't meant to be insensitive, in my opinion.

Disaster

#28 Postby jimvb » Fri Mar 10, 2006 7:48 am

"A bad day in Florida beats a good day everywhere else." As though a category 5 hurricane strikes everywhere in the world every day except in Florida, and including South Dakota. Sounds like Armageddon. I call that false advertising.

My favorite place in Florida is along the panhandle...where they filmed The Truman Show. That little town is just unbelievable. However, I would much rather live in California...central to northern Cali. My wife is from there. We go back a couple times a year and the weather is just unbeatable in the Bay area. (unbeatable as "nice")

Now... I haven't seen this ad, but I don't believe they are referring to hurricanes as a "bad day." Obviously, a hurricane is much worse than just a "bad day." I believe it goes back to the "a bad day of fishing beats a good day at work."

Heh, could be worse, you could be living in Pennsylvania, where our four seasons are winter, almost winter, sorta winter, and road construction.

Hey, I'm going to have to travel in Pennsylvania in a few weeks. They usually have a few construction areas on Route 15 and I-81 when I go through there. I call it the Road Construction State.

Perhaps this should be added to the slogan "We hadn't thought about hurricanes."

yeah I was up in Philly a few months ago. I could not believe how much road construction there is AND also you guys have a very confusing road system with roads that are not clearly marked.

lol on the road construction state. Been there, done that. Every xmas at home in pgh. A wedding in two weeks there and I dread the trip. No longer take the turnpike because I know it will not be completed in my lifetime (been working on it all my life already and I'm 55 this year). Been in Nags Head for 32 yrs now, live 800 ft from ocean, fish for dolphin grouper, tuna, rock, you name it. Do have to put up with the occasional hurricane though. I do miss pgh, but just a little.

I wouldn't live anywhere else.

A bad day in Florida IS better than a good day just about anywhere else.
