I see no sense in this, unless they just want the practice. Sure, there's a surface low there, and it even extends into the mid-level, but it's embedded in the trough. There's absolutely zero chance of any tropical development.

right now its in an area of 20 to 30kts of shear if it keeps moving away from the coast then it will get into an area of 10 to 20kts of shear.

I agree, we had much better systems through the winter. I say the chance of it becoming Alberto is 2% - numerous systems earlier this year had greater probabilities.

91L invest

They changed the number up to 91L because 90L was used already for the South Atlantic system in March.

Yeah, its got no chance of forming at all, bar a miricle. Still it does ahow that we are getting close to that time where invests will start to occur.

I was looking at the global models this morning and they showed a system that seems to be pretty loosely wound hanging around then moving N or NNW, something to watch I guess :wink:
