The only significant hurricane in recent memory to come ashore along the Northeast Florida coast. So this would have to be considered a little unusual.

I remember that it just wouldn't go away!! And apparently, it was one of the costliest (probably way overshadowed by now) at the time.

I wonder how California would do if a hurricane Hyacinth track occured today as a Cat. 1/2 hurricane? Could California handle a tropical system like that?

Peaked below 900 mb twice, only rose once for an ERC. All in all, a Cat 5 for nearly a week, nonstop.
