Re: When will the first Hurricane form?
I'm surprised there's only one vote for August 21-31. Make it two. I can think of several seasons when even August didn't even really get going until the second half.

Re: When will the first Hurricane form?
I put october/nobember only because I do not know when the first hurricane will form. However, I expect a season like 2005 no matter when we get our first. I think we'll see 2-3 category 5 hurricanes in the caribbean/gulf. I expect at least 1 to make landfall as a category 5 in south florida taking a path similar to Wilma. I see at least 1 category 4 making landfall in the central gulf. Possibly category 5 depending how fast it is moving. The quicker it moves the less time it has for rapid weakening. Mark this post because it will feel so weird to go back and read what I wrote as the season progresses.

Re: When will the first Hurricane form?
When will the first hurricane be classified?
Rest of June 5% [ 4 ]
July 1-10 16% [ 13 ]
July 11-20 27% [ 22 ]
July 21-31 22% [ 18 ]
August 1-10 15% [ 12 ] x
August 11-20 7% [ 6 ]
August 21-31 2% [ 2 ]
September 1-10 1% [ 1 ]
September 11-20 0% [ 0 ]
September 21-30 0% [ 0 ]
October/November 2% [ 2 ]
Total votes : 80
The above was the first poll that I made including the rest of June and July 1-10.But those timeframes are now gone so I deleited those options but by doing that it erased all the votes.
However, this allows me to make a new fresh poll with a new option,(No Hurricanes in Atlantic 2007 Season). So participate by voting and if you want to make a comment, you can do so.
As I did in the first post of this thread,I am sticking with August 8th as the date for the first hurricane to be classified.

Best bet for hurricane formation July 26-July29 along southern coast of Cuba (near mid area of southern coast) at about 21N and 79W. By that time upper level trough over area should have moved out bringing in more stable conditions from E Carib. Tropical Waves getting a little more impressive by then. Looking for upgrade to Depression near the Carib Islands with upgrade to hurricane at 21N and 79W. Another possibility would be a simple conglomeration of thunderstorms in the east Carib drifting west and then organizing quickly south of the Cuban Coast. I think I favor this latter scenario. But in any case July 26-July 29 at 21N and 79W for possible hurricane.

Im picked july 11 to 21. Things are coming together for something to pop soon. Shear is light across most of the Basin, Sal is lessening, waves are holding together longer and climatology. I 'll guess at @ July 17 just east of the southern Bahamas.
