Yeah, Gator, I think that 12Z Euro day 10 map suggests a hit on FL day 11/Sep 8, which is about the earliest day of a conus threat from this.

This one is going to be a problem i think... if GFS is already showing a Caribbean runner!

Way to early to tell at this point. To be honest I actually feel more comfortable having it point at us at this point. When that happens it normally doesn't verify.

If it travels as depicted it will encounter high mountains on Hispaniola and eastern Cuba which would seem to spell trouble for the system staying intact.

If this forms, we could see 4 simultaneous named systems in the Atlantic basin (assuming TD 8 and 9 make TS strength as the NHC currently predicts)

Ahhh, the models :double: One moment this Pouch is barrelling down on P.R. and the next, it's whimpering into the Florida Straits! Think I'll wait to speculate until seeing whether this wave is still showing up on visible satellite after passing the Cape Verde Islands lol!

Yep, this is the weakest in several days of GFS runs but it is also continuing the trend of coming across at a lower latitude, further decreasing the chance of recurving/avoiding land IF it were to actually develop.

I think if a system is large enough it can stay intact--Fay in 2008 for instance had little weakening after going right down the center of Hispaniola.
