34 years old and have been following tropical systems since Bob floated across the eastern part of the state as a weakened TD in 1979 (I was in 3rd grade then!) so I guess 26 years. Really got "cane fever" with Diana though in '84. 8-)

I'm 29 and can't really remember how long I've been interested in storms. My sisters tease me saying I should've gone into meteorology, but I retort to them that I hate math.

All I remember is they really became more interesting after Andrew blew through my area in 92.

UPDATE #8 COMING SOON...

Thought I'd bump this up just in case anyone who hasn't already done so may participate if they'd like. To get in on the fun, just add your age and time tracking 'canes and I'll add 'ya to the list in a few days...

Any room left in the pool? <CANNONBALL!!>

Anyway, I'm 46, tracking for 20 years (but science & weather nut for 40). Dad was an engineer and Ham operator, grew up with a teletype in the basement.

Started tracking when I moved to this island. Right away heard how that bad one in '35 hit just down the road. I was a reporter then, actually got to interview a few old gents who remembered it. Floyd in '87 went right up U.S. One, dissipating, but I saw the half an eye it had left. Then Andrew, so many of us fled the Keys for higher ground. In Homestead. Yikes.

So many great people here willing to share so many years of experience. Fantastic.

Whoa boy, shoulda noticed this topic a long time ago.

17 years old, been tracking since...10 years ago. Doesn't seem that long. 1995 was the year that did it for me. My older (20+ years older) half-brother has always been a Weather Channel fan, and I became hooked when I was 6 or 7. Then Hurricane Season 1995 had me glued to the Weather Channel till November. 8-)

Been borderline obsessed ever since.
