Sorry to hear that. Would you like me to send pictures of the Mobile/Fairhope area which was over 100 miles away from Katrina but still have damage near the Coast. Or just take him to some of the sites that are showing pictures of the LA, MS, and AL Coast.

Let's hear it for the gals!
On a somewhat more serious note, has anyone noticed that, at this point, every single model (including the good ol' xtrap  ) takes Rita into Texas? Perhaps DH needs to be told this.

Miktiki,

You should inform your husband if he stays for a hurricane he is on his own. First responders are locked down and not allowed to answer 911 calls it is simply too dangerous for them to do so. During Katrina alot of people called 911 just to be told by dispatchers that they could not send anyone to help them and that they would take their name and address and have someone come to their house AFTER the storm died down and was safe to do so. On the website of the local TV station in Biloxi they have some of the 911 calls posted, it is very surreal. Have your husband listen to them, maybe the panic in peoples voices will wake him up to what could possibly happen. http://www.wlox.com

You could say you think of it as a romantic getaway... a nice hotel, some champagne, and thou... say this while in a skimpy nightie... He's a man, right? :)

If you say this while in a skimpy nightie AND are holding either his favorite food item or say, some superb football tickets for a game at your evacuation destination, his brain will completely short out and he will say "yeaahhgghh" to anything you ask.

Trust me on this. The two halves of his brain will collide and annihilate each other and he will be at your mercy.
