I think the nhc is scared to upgrade based on the last few fall aparts.

Easy my friend.NHC does it's job based on scientific data and not on the court of public opinion. They know very well when to upgrade a system or not.

That maybe true that they do have the data, but this is a discussion board meaning none serious discussion on the topic. Really its hard to go against a system that looks like Bonnie,Barry. I got a strong option of things I'm sorry if that crosses any lines.

I highly doubt that an eye is forming, this looks like a TD/weak TS at best right now.

The NRL lists Andrea as 01L now.

Of course the eye thing is not true, crazyC83 is playing.

Most of the time I'm a strong defender of the NHC, but when I feel they are doing something wrong, I have to say it.

No. If you look carefully at a visible image you can see some texturing on the SE side of the CDO. That's the upper ends of the core thunderstorm complexes, which are (roughly) orbiting the center. If an eye were to form it would be there. But you're not going to get an eye 3 hours after a TD converts into a proper cyclone. It takes much more energy than that.

You can get a better look from GOES Data. Select "animation", 6 or more images, then click on Andrea for a zoomed look. The texturing will get far more obvious in the next few hours due to shadows as the sun gets low.

With a disturbance in the area (TD or TS in the opinion of many here) the NHC should be doing special TWOs. That would be really nice.

Sorry guys, I have to be the one the to say it, but I can't even imagine what this place is going to be like when an actual storm that is threatning the CONUS is upon us. Already some of us are bashing the NHC and placing such a high emphesis on a storm that at the very most MIGHT be nice to look at on the way to Europe.

I'm not bashing the nhc, just stating my option or thinking of it. It doe's not matter if its going to Europe or the south Atlantic. I have the out most respect for the forecasters at the nhc, but as long as I can post will state my option. God bless the Nhc.

Andrea's convection has slightly weakened, but she still has enough to be called a TD/TS. I think NHC will upgrade either now or at 11 pm.

I think anything is possible with this system. It would not suprize me if it did what it did early this morning, in just had a convection die out. Or it would not suprize me if it bombed into a 50 knot tropical storm as it gets kicked out. Thats Andrea.
