It is getting closer to 55w where we began to see Chris come together. I suspect we will see another blossom of deep convection in a few hours and that will be the lift off point IMO.

Lifting off has been the problem for two days now. Every time convection pokes it head above the ground (12000 feet are so) it gets lifted off by shear.

Yep, I knew if this convection lasted and continued the trend (NHC said it), that it would become a TD soon. I know how many 91L cancel posts there were, a lot.

What does a TCFA mean? That it will likely be upgraded to TD#4?

It seems as if southerly shear is blowing those T storms away. I would think there would need to be more persistance in the convection before any alert would be issued.... just my opinion.

Thanks, but I know what TCFA stands for.

I just don't know what it means.

The shear is not enough to keep it from developing and it appears to be lessening even further as the ULL continues to weaken to its NW. Alberto not only developed but came close to a Hurricane with much more shear than this. 91L's problem right now is overcoming the dry air it keeps gulping from the south everytime it begins to fire. It takes it a few hours to overcome it and boom we get convection again.

Cloud tops are starting to warm and are being sheared to the north. 91L looks to have lost its circulation earlier in the day. Surrounded by all that dry air, the shear, limited convection.....I don't see how the NHC can say a depression can form soon......MGC
