Totally agree A2K! Here in Harahan, it is hot, sticky, and the A/C can't keep up with the heat. This is the worst drought I can remember.

Ahh, one nice thing about Harahan, though... one of the highest places in the area. I have a friend just bought a lot over there and gonna build their home on it. The land is 9 feet above sea level, and he's going to elevate it an additional 8 feet. Should be fairly safe there.

hot & dry vs humid & windy

it was so dry here that the grass was brown and crispy. and too hot to step out barefoot on the front porch by 2pm.
alberto was a blessing to west central florida, but its' too late for lots of dead oaks all over because it has been dry for so long. and since the ts it has been STEAMY and windy (enough for my son to fly his kite today!)

dang..........I woke up to thunder and heard a few drops of rain..........went outside and found out that all we got was just that....a few drops........so much for getting grass to grow. I think some of houston might have gotten a good soaking.......but not in my lil ole town that is just north of galveston.

We got pounded in the SouthBelt Clear Lake area. The Bayou was almost full.
