How many storms formed in August of 2005? i know one was Katrina. id just would like to compare in terms of how things are shaping up.

5 formed in August 2005, 2010 had 4.
2004 had 7 form in August, as did 1995 and 1933 (with most of those after the 18th!!)

Thank you KWT. But dang, this season is well on its way to catch up with those numbers. We may even see the D storm before August. (ex 90L, if it develops)

So it looks like most people think we will have 4 named storms in August. I think that is a very reasonable prediction. Get ready to buckle up folks!
