central atlantic wave

some Convection over an area that had a little swirl earlier on friday around 44w moving west. CMC and GFS models seem to be increasing the vorticity then perhaps weakening it a bit as it moves through the southern windwards

This wave is currently passing through the islands, with lots of rain, very high winds thunder and lightning .This weather started in Barbados from around mid night Saturday and has been with us all Sunday .Just had a wind gust and i have to say it was storm force . Will keep you updated .

Wind gusts in this part of the island (the south) were certainly storm force around 1:30 PM. Unfortunately, a few utility poles were blown down and folks in some districts are currently without power. All is calm right now and it appears that the worse of the weather has passed.
