Unless explicitly stated, all information covered in my posts is based on my opinions and observations. Please refer to a professional meteorologist or an accredited weather research agency otherwise, especially if serious decisions must be made in the event of a potentially life-threatening tropical storm or hurricane.

Some of my best work in the long-format "movie" style. My new series "The Hurricane Highway" is different and more "TV" like, but this piece of work here is probably my best overall for film making:

As far as Documentaries go, I'll add "Hurricane Andrew, as it Happened", which was presented by 4News. I actually still have this tape after all these years, and I consider it one of the best hurricane documentaries of all time.

Here’s one of the best videos I’ve ever seen; shot from within the NE eyewall of Typhoon Haiyan in Palo, Leyte (in the Philippines).

It’s one of the very rare instances whereby actual Cat 5 winds were caught on tape. The location is a bit south of the other Haiyan videos, from Tacloban, those of which very likely didn’t experience true Cat five winds, but was very intense there, as well, nonetheless.

For storm surge video - this is the GOAT due to sheer ferocity.

Easily one of the best weather documentaries. The first category 5 damage captured on modern, widespread media.

The video of the Port Fourchon dock during Ida's landfall was pretty intense. There's a few clips floating around out there, here's a sample:

If we have a "TROPICAL CYCLONE FOOTAGE OF THE YEAR AWARD", I'll just give it to this FOOTAGE taken by a stranded delivery truck driver (Mr. Yeng Lamila) in Brgy. Lipata, Surigao City during Super Typhoon Rai.

Hurricane Katrina's storm surge along the Gulf coast:

An honerable mention for the (not a) hurricane that hit southern England in October 1987, the strongest to hit the region for 300 years and the closest the UK has come to hurricane destruction.

By far the most intense eyewall footage I've seen from Hurricane Dorian and maybe from any tropical cyclone ever period.
