from 08N-11N between 17W and the west coast of Africa.

A tropical wave extends its axis along 54-55W from 24N southward,
moving W at 15-20 kt. A broad surface trough is associated with
this tropical wave. A large plume of atmospheric moisture
accompanies this wave between 48W and 57W, as noted in Precipitable
Water imagery, while Saharan Air dominates the environment between
57w and 62W. Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is
noted from 08.5N to 15N between 48W and 56W.

A weak tropical wave has an axis over the eastern Caribbean along
63-64W from 17N southward to SE Venezuela, moving W at 15 kt.
Widely scattered moderate convection is noted from 10N-12.5N
between 58W-62W. Saharan Air has engulfed much of this wave and
extends from 57W to 69W.

A central Caribbean tropical wave has an axis along 77-78W from
Jamaica to western Colombia, moving W at 10-15 kt. Isolated
moderate convection is over the waters of Haiti, eastern Cuba and
Jamaica. Father south, scattered moderate to strong convection
is noted from 11.5N southward over northwestern Colombia between
75W-79W.

Waves 28-29-30-31 at 12:05 UTC discussion on 8/14/22.

An eastern Atlantic tropical wave has an axis along 24W from 22N
southward through the Cabo Verde Islands to 04N, moving W near 10
kt. A 1010 mb low pressure lingers east of the wave axis near
17N20.5W. Scattered moderate convection is noted from 06.5N to
12N between 18W and 28W. Widely scattered weak to moderate
convection is also noted within 240 nm across the W semicircle of
the low pressure center.

A tropical wave has an axis that extends from 23N59.5W across the
Lesser Antilles to to 06N63.5W in Venezuela, moving W at 15 kt. A
broad surface trough accompanies this tropical wave and extends
farther NE to 27N55W. Scattered moderate to strong convection is
noted within 210 nm west of the wave axis from 06N to 11N. Widely
scattered moderate convection is elsewhere over water within 210
nm W and 420 nm E of the wave axis S of 16N. The northern portion
of the wave and surface trough axis is interacting with a middle
level trough to produce numerous moderate to strong convection
from 22.5N to 27N between 50W and 58W.

An eastern Caribbean tropical wave has an axis along 69W from 17N
southward to Venezuela near 07N, moving W near 15 kt. Isolated
moderate convection is along the wave axis south of 15N extending
inland across Venezuela to 09N.

A western Caribbean tropical wave has an axis along 84W from 20N
southward, moving W at 15 kt. Scattered moderate isolated strong
convection trails the wave axis, from coastal portions of NE
Nicaragua to the NW coast of Colombia.

A new tropical wave has been added to the 0600 UTC surface map,
along 23W, from 06N to 21N, moving W around 10 kt. A 1011 mb
surface low remains just N of the Cabo Verde islands, near
18N23.5W. Scattered moderate convection is seen from 07N to 08.5N
between 22W and 25W. This wave is evident in precipitable water
animations in global model diagnostics. 2300 UTC ASCAT wind data
showed a broad surface trough in this vicinity.

An eastern Atlantic tropical wave has been relocated to along 35W,
from 11N-24N, moving W at around 15 kt. Scattered moderate
convection is near the monsoon trough from 06.5N-08.5N between
30W and 35W. Global model diagnostics and satellite derived wind
vectors show the wave well W of its previous position.

An eastern Caribbean tropical wave has an axis oriented NNE-SSW
from 24N63.5W to Venezuela near 06.5N69W. The tropical wave is
moving W at around 15 kt. A broad surface trough is reflected at
the surface and extends from the northern portion of the wave NE
to near 28N61W. Only isolated convection is seen near the wave
axis. However, numerous thunderstorms continue to the E of the
surface trough, from 20.5N to 23N between 56W AND 60.5W.

A central Caribbean tropical wave has an axis along 75W from 17N
southward to inland Colombia near 06N, moving W at around 15 kt.
Scattered moderate isolated strong convection is noted W of the
wave, from 12.5N extending south and inland over Colombia and the
adjacent coastal waters to 80W.

Waves 31-32-33 at 12:05 UTC discussion on 8/22/22.

A far eastern Atlantic tropical wave has its axis along 29W from
08N to 22N moving westward at 15 kt. A 1011 mb low pressure is
analyzed along the wave axis near 16N. Recently developed
scattered moderate to isolated strong convection is within 90
nm of the low in the NE quadrant. Scattered moderate convection
is within 180 nm of the low in the SW quadrant, and within 120 nm
of the low in the NW quadrant. Isolated showers and thunderstorms
are seen within 240 nm E of the wave from 11N-14N. Environmental
conditions could support some slow development of this system
while it moves W-WNW at 10-15 kt across the eastern and central
tropical Atlantic for the next several days. Currently, this
system has a low chance of tropical cyclone development through 5
days.

A central Atlantic tropical wave has its axis along 49W from 06N
to 22N moving westward at about 15 kt. A scatterometer data pass
from last night indicated a subtle northeast to east-southeast
wind shift of the surface winds across the axis of this wave. No
deep convection is presently noted as the wave is passing through
a very dry and stable surrounding atmospheric environment.

A central Caribbean tropical wave has its axis along 79W south of
20N to the eastern Pacific waters just west of Colombia. It is
moving westward near 15 kt. Scattered showers and isolated
thunderstorms are south of 13N between the wave and 83W and near
the northern part of the wave to the coast of Cuba. Isolated small
showers and thunderstorms are south of 13N within 120 nm east of
the wave.

Waves 31-32-33 at 12:05 UTC discussion on 8/23/22.

An eastern Atlantic tropical wave has its axis along 36W from 04N
to 21N, with weak low pressure of 1010 mb near 16N36W. It is
moving westward around 20 kt. Satellite imagery depicts a rather
broad cyclonic circulation with this system, with very minimal
convection. Only rather small isolated showers and thunderstorms
are within 60 nm of the low, and within 240 nm west of the wave
from 07N to 10N. Environmental conditions appear marginally
conducive for gradual development during the next several days
while the system moves westward to west-northwestward across the
tropical Atlantic.

A central Atlantic tropical wave has its axis along 54W from 03N
to 21N moving westward at 10 kt. Scattered moderate to isolated
strong convection is confined to within 120 nm east of the wave
from 08N to 10N. Scattered moderate convection is within 120 nm
west of the wave from 07N to 09N.

A western Caribbean tropical wave has its axis along 83W south of
21N well into the eastern Pacific waters near 02N. It is moving
westward at 5-10 kt. Scattered moderate to isolated strong
convection is confined to the far southwestern Caribbean where the
eastern part of the eastern Pacific monsoon trough is present.
This convection exists from 09N to 14N between the wave and 80W.
Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are elsewhere between
72W and the wave, including the waters adjacent to Jamaica and
the Cayman Islands.

Waves 31-32-33 at 12:05 UTC discussion on 8/24/22.

A central Atlantic tropical wave has its axis along 38W from 03N
to 20N moving westward at 10 kt. Scattered moderate convection is
within 180 nm west of the wave from 14N to 17N. Otherwise, the
environment surrounding this wave remains rather dry limiting
deep convection from forming.

A western Atlantic tropical wave has its axis along 57.5W from
03N to 20N moving westward at 5 kt. This wave is part of a
broad trough of low pressure that is east of the Windward Islands.
Scattered moderate to isolated strong convection is within 120 nm
west of the wave from 06N to 09N. Scattered moderate convection
is within 150 nm east of the wave from 06N to 09N. Scattered
showers and isolated thunderstorms are within 150 nm east of the
wave from 11N to 13N. Environmental conditions could become more
conducive for slow development of this system in several days
while it is forecast to move across the Windward Islands and into
the southeastern Caribbean Sea.

A western Caribbean tropical wave has its axis along 87W south of
20N moving westward at about 10 kt. Scattered showers and thunderstorms
are lagging behind the wave from 15N to 18N between 79W-83W. Isolated
showers and thunderstorms are elsewhere west of 78W.

Waves 31-32-33-34 at 12:05 UTC discussion on 8/25/22.

A far eastern Atlantic tropical wave has its axis just offshore
Africa along 18W from 05N to 21N moving westward at 10 kt. The
surrounding environment of this wave has moistened up since 24
hours. Scattered moderate to isolated strong convection is noted
from 10N to 14N between 18W-22W. Scattered moderate convection
is from 08N to 11N between 14W-22W. Convective activity preceding
this wave consists of a large cluster numerous moderate to strong
convection from 06N to 13N between 26W-32W, and of scattered
moderate to isolated strong convection from 04N to 08N between
32W-38W. This activity has been rather persistent, and appears to
be a piece of energy that had detached from the wave when it was
inland Africa yesterday. Environmental conditions could support
some slow development of this system later this week, or during
the weekend as it continues on westward.

A central Atlantic tropical wave has its axis along 43W from 02N
to 20N moving westward at 10 kt. Deep convection continues to be
limited due to a dry and stable surrounding environment. Only
isolated showers and thunderstorms are seen within 180 nm west and
120 nm east of the wave axis from 14N to 17N.

A western Atlantic tropical wave has its axis approaching 60W
from 03N to 20N moving westward around 5 kt. Surface observations
from Barbados during the overnight hours have been indicating
light to heavy showers, with thunderstorms at times. In addition,
eastern Caribbean radar composites show scattered showers and
thunderstorms now spreading into the southeastern Caribbean within
about 180 nm west of the wave. Surface observations from other
Windward Islands are reporting similar type of weather. Scattered
showers and thunderstorms are also located east of the wave from
10N to 15N between the wave and 55W. Environmental conditions
could become more conductive for slow development of this system
in several days after it crosses the Windward Islands and moves
across the eastern and central Caribbean Sea late this week and
into early next week.

A tropical wave has its axis inland the Yucatan Peninsula along
91W south of 20N to the eastern Pacific Ocean. It is moving
westward at about 5 kt. Scattered moderate to isolated strong
convection is over and just offshore Belize, while scattered
showers and thunderstorms are just north of the Gulf of Honduras.
