Tropical Storm Paine is up with the peak intensity at 40kt. Let's see if the pace of the reports being released picks up in the next few weeks. I guess IAN will be the last one to be up.

Worth noting that the report states that it is still unknown why the major models had a poor time initializing Danielle before it formed. I wonder if this will pop up again for a couple other storms that models had a hard time sniffing out.

Fiona's TCR is gonna be very interesting with that being said. That was like the first major Atlantic hurricane I remember in my tracking experience that occurred with very little, if any, medium-range model support until merely several days before it actually formed.

It formed in part from the remnants of Julia.

I guess they didn't realize it in real time? If so, they could have just considered it an extension of Julia, rather than a new name.

It's also one of the few Gulf storms that did not make landfall, since it dissipated over the Bay of Campeche.

There's absolutely no doubt they realized what was going on in real time. This disturbance began to take shape before EPAC Julia completely dissipated. IIRC both these systems were embedded in a CAG.

The exciting wait is over. Ivette has been released.

Howard, Kay, and Orlene are the only Pacific storms left now.
