August 10th, Debby (4th name). I'm really hesitant to predict an August major even though this looks like an extreme year, we will see.

Yes. It's pretty hard to get a major before Aug 20 in most years, and I think that will continue this year. I do think we'll see a couple Cat 1-2's before then though

Yes. It's pretty hard to get a major before Aug 20 in most years, and I think that will continue this year. I do think we'll see a couple Cat 1-2's before then though

I also think Ernesto but I’d up him to a Cat 4 on August 23rd. The waters are warm but climatology will ensure we experience the July to mid-August doldrums and “canceled season” posts.

I’m thinking even less active since 2020 had consistent storm production all summer. But I guess a lot is weighing on how where the Azores high settles and how much Saharan dust gets kicked up this year.
