Predictions

#1 Postby rob8303 » Tue Sep 09, 2003 1:37 pm

When will Hurricane Isabel turn to the West? If you think it will at all? I'm thinking with each passing hour CONUS has dodged another bullet. Thank god for that southerly flow. AND, AND, AND it's forecast to be there for another 72 hours, more than enough time to get Isabel to 30 N or above.
BTW, what's the initial motion estimate now? Was 300/11 this morning at 11 am.

With Fabian and so far with Isabel, the NHC has been awfully close in there accuracy. So at this point I will lean with them, though I am getting an awful gnawing in my stomach similar to one I had with Bertha, Fran, Floyd...

Hurricane Isabel (as of now) is expected to move mainly westward with a west-northwest movement at times around the southern perifery of the expected building high over the Atlantic.

As far as I can tell, Isabel began that westward movement at 4pm yesterday. As usual, the NHC is about 12 hours behind in acknowledging a change.
