And from Mount Holly NJ NWS

#1 Postby njbeachwx » Sun Sep 14, 2003 7:50 pm

I have never in 37 years seen this...
...A GOOD TIME TO REVIEW YOUR FAMILY DISASTER PLAN...

AS MAJOR HURRICANE ISABEL CONTINUES TO MOVE WEST NORTHWEST TOWARD
THE EAST COAST OF THE UNITED STATES...NOW IS A GOOD TIME TO REVIEW
AND UPDATE YOUR FAMILY DISASTER PLAN.

PART OF YOUR FAMILY DISASTER PLAN SHOULD BE PREPARING IN CASE A
HURRICANE THREATENS YOUR AREA. SOME ACTIVITIES WHICH YOU STILL
HAVE TIME TO COMPLETE INCLUDE KNOWING THE HURRICANE RISKS IN YOUR
AREA SUCH AS WHETHER YOU LIVE IN A POTENTIAL FLOOD ZONE...LEARNING
SAFE ROUTES INLAND FROM COASTAL AREAS...FINDING OUT WHERE OFFICIAL
SHELTERS ARE LOCATED...TRIMMING TREES AND SHRUBBERY...CLEARING LOOSE
AND CLOGGED RAIN SPOUTS AND GUTTERS...AND DETERMINING WHERE TO MOVE
YOUR BOAT IN AN EMERGENCY.

Hey Mike!

NJbeach - that's what I'm afraid of with the Boardwalk, plus the ocean fronts of all of the casinos! :o

Every little bit helps!!!

There will probably be people stuck there, workers and visitors, though there will be alot of cancellations this week. The Miss America pageant is this coming weekend. :o

My casino is building a new tower that is projected to open in April 2004. There's a big crane located in the middle of the site and the whole building is right across the street from my building where I work. We're one block in from the original casino/boardwalk.

You a member of NJWO? North Jersey WX Observers? Bet they are beginning to consider the implications, too.

Also a group known as the Long Island WX Observers who might take a look at Isabel very soon.

I alerted our Delaware office of the possiblity of problems later this week. And here I am all the way out here in Phoenix!

Hi earlybird. Welcome from Cape May. Indeed you need to be looking south over the next few days.

Nice to have you on board.

Sounds like alot of damage is possible in an area that hasn't seen a storm like this is a long long time. I wish everyone the best and if you live near the coast please head your evacuation orders.

Colin if you live anywhere near the mountains--------the orographical effect will enhance your rain tallies with this storm. Please keep an eye on your nearby streams and move to higher ground if necessary.
